This young drummer/musician is originally from Oakland, California, but moved to Pittsburg, PA at an early age. While being around music her whole life, the thought of learning to play an instrument didn't occur until she was in the sixth grade. At the age of 12, Brittany started playing the drums at Central Jr. High school in Pittsburg, following after her older brother Chad who started playing the trombone in the schools beginning band two years earlier. Brittany's skills quickly started to develop; her inspiration came from her Bay Area church, Faith Worship Center Ministries. Angel Corrillo, her mentor, influenced her style while celebrated drummer Sheila E. gave direction to her dreams.
All through school she played in every band the schools offered, including playing the snare drum in marching band for three years in high school. As a member of the marching band, Brittany was able to travel to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in Florida to play in parades.
At the age of 20, she took a leap of faith and relocated on her own to Los Angeles to attend Musicians Institute in Hollywood to study the drums and develop her music career. Moving to Los Angeles and being on her own, Brittany quickly realized that she blindly dove head first into reality and that being a successful musician in LA wasn’t going to come overnight.
Over the past four years, Brittany has worked diligently with up and coming Los Angeles artist such as Scotty G. and the Get Down, Raz B formally of B2K, CrazeDotCom, Haile Selassie and Philipino rapper, Liberty Jayne. Most recently, Brittany has joined Cee-Lo as Gnarls Barkley (best known as a member of hip hop group Goodie Mob) all-star female band, Scarlet Fever. Additionally, Brittany performed with Cee-Lo on his national late night television shows such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Lopez Tonight.
While the drum world is dominated by men and it being such a masculine and large instrument it is always a shocker when people see this petite, feminine and sexy young lady grace the drum set and play with such confidence and domination.
Brittany's talent, innocent smile and confident stage presence makes her a serious threat on the music scene. This bright, young, rhythmic diva is a rising star that will soon be the hottest beat on the streets.
